
DAYS OF THE WEEK THROUGH FAMILIAR ENGLISH WORDS
The days of the week in Spanish are easier to remember than they may appear. They have clear connections to familiar English words (see table above).
NOTES
sábado → Saturday; literally Sabbath. Traditionally, the Sabbath was on Saturday.
domingo → Sunday; literally the Day of the Lord or Day of His Dominion.
lunes → Monday; literally Lunar Day or Moon Day. English Monday comes from Moon Day.
